Frankfurters and Film in Frankfurt

Last month my sister and I went to Kassel in Germany to see dOCUMENTA 13 – an exhibition of modern and contemporary art which takes place every five years. I was really inspired by a lot of the work I saw especially the Refusal of Time by William Kentridge.

I had an unexpected treat then on my last night… we had left Kassel and checked into a rather smart airport hotel in Frankfurt so that we didn’t have to get up at 4am the next day! There weren’t many options for dinner in the nearby mall – but there was a small supermarket selling Taifun Frankfurters (what else should I eat in Frankfurt?!) so I bought a bread roll and some salad and headed back to the hotel room for a slap up vegan picnic. Then, as we were tucking in, the local TV station showed an adaptation of Kentridge’s piece. I love it when events conspire to give you a real treat; these moments we remember…
