Well the sloe gin is now in bottles. We seems to have a bit of a glut of it! I’m sure we’ll muddle through somehow! Marc’s sloe gin emporium has just expanded to incude a new product – slow gin jelly! It’s made using the sloes that the gin has been soaking in for the last couple of months. It sets quite firm and has a beautiful colour – like old stained glass. The taste is extraordinary; at first it is sweet, then the flavour of the fruit bursts in your mouth then suddenly all the moisture in your mouth vanishes – it sucks your mouth dry! Very strange. I reckon it would go very well with savoury foods after a meal. So long as you also had a drink to hand!
