Weekending in London

I’m back after a whirlwind trip down memory lane in London seeing bands from my past. One night in Brixton seeing the Mob, Zounds, The Astronauts and Idiot Strength…  I met up with friends I’ve not seen for 25 years! Then on Saturday it was the last ever gig with Steve Ignorant on the Last Supper tour singing Crass songs. I first saw Crass in 1980, two other original band members showed up (Penny Rimbaud and Eve Libertine) what a treat! Here is a song from the night!

The second highlight of the night was stumbling on a little gem of a restaurant at 86 Uxbridge Road W12 on the north side of the green at Shepherds Bush (tel: 077950 80418). Open every day 12.00-22.00. A Chinese all-you-can-eat vegan buffet restaurant: £5.50 lunch, £6.50 evenings and take-away boxes for £3.50. I had a take-away box crammed with sweet n’ sour ‘chicken’, ‘beef’curry, stir-fried tofu, green beans, sesame toast, broccoli, noodles, rice… it was all very tasty and filling, set me right up for a night of old school anarchist punk!

Normal service will be resumed…
